‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Sequel Releases Title and Teaser Poster!

At CinemaCon, Disney reflected on their monstrously profitable 2016 year. They recapped how their “stars aligned” with Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilms and how movies from each mini-company under the Disney umbrella hit $1 billion dollars.

I really didn’t care about any of that. I was far more excited about the Wreck-It Ralph announcement.

They released the title of the March 9th, 2018 movie. It’s a doozy and backwards from what is expected. Introducing:

Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2!

I’m really intrigued how they’re going to incorporate our 8-bit characters into the (more than likely) massive world of online gaming. My guess is there will be some takes at MMORPG’s like World of Warcraft. Maybe Ralph’s game gets an overhaul. Many early games like Super Mario Brothers, The Legend of Zelda, and others have been revamped for online play through mods or streaming on companies like Valve.

We also got to see the first look at a teaser poster. It looks like an app on a phone. It makes me wonder if we might get multiple Ralph’s running around as they all play on the app.

io9 reports:

“To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore,” said co-director Rich Moore in a press release. “Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.”

That will also include the return of Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer) and Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch).

Hope was raised in fandoms and saw how they can help save the world from her work with The Harry Potter Alliance. Now, she works to bring that love into writing one article at a time. She's also a diehard Atlanta Braves fan, so don't diss her team.
