Big Hero 6 Cast Returns for Animated Series!
Along with Tangled: the Animated Series, the other big Disney show I’m looking forward to next year is Big Hero 6. The Academy Award winning movie is also coming to the small screen. It looks like they’re bringing most of the gang with them too!
EW is reporting that much of the original cast with some new people are joining the mix:
The continuation of Disney’s Academy-Award winning film has recruited much of the original cast, including Scott Asdit as the cuddly robot Baymax and Ryan Potter as young tech genius Hiro.
Other actors reprising their roles are Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, Jamie Chung (Once Upon A Time) as Go Go, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, David Shaugnessy as Heathcliff, and Stan Lee as Fred’s dad. New additions to the main voice cast are Brooks Wheelan (Saturday Night Live) replacing T.J. Miller as Fred and Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) stepping in for Damon Wayans Jr. as Wasabi.
The series picks up right after the events of the movie and will follow the adventures of Hiro, Baymax, and their team as they protect their city from scientifically enhanced villains. Hiro also faces new challenges after becoming the latest prodigy at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
The guest cast for the upcoming series includes Andrew Scott (Sherlock), Andy Richter (Conan), Diedrich Bader (American Housewife), John Ross Bowie (Speechless), Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs), and Jenifer Lewis (Black-ish).
I’m wiggling in my seat from excitement. Big Hero 6 is one of my more recent favorite Disney movies. Hopefully if the series does well, we’ll get a sequel movie too!
