ABOUT LAST NIGHT: Jimmy Fallon Giggles With Trump and CBS Reboots MacGyver
A QUICK SPOILERY ROUNDUP FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15. WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT LAST NIGHT? AND WHAT’D WE MISS? LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!
THE TONIGHT SHOW
Jimmy Fallon played cutesy with Donald Trump last night. Fallon thanked Trump for giving him lots of late-night material, giggled about all the “shocking things I can’t even believe” Trump said, and praised great job that Matt Lauer during last week’s national security forum. (Another triumph of Corporate Synergy for NBC.) Ah yes, Jimmy, what could be funnier than calling people rapists, asserting every Muslim is a terrorist, branding Americans losers and explaining how exciting it would be to kill people? Hi-larious. Fallon finished by running his hands through Trump’s orange locks. Thank God for Seth Myers.
No I did not watch CBS’ reboot of MacGyver, did you? Did anyone? Don’t answer that last question, since CBS seems to have no problems attracting viewers to any of its forensic dramas, except Person of Interest. CBS replaced the smart and edgy drama for stuff like MacGyver. The only way I’d watch this if it was MacGruber.
There wasn’t much going Thursday night, so let’s talk about Wednesday night’s Blindspot. Should I be watching this show? It returned up 20 percent over last year’s season finale. Archie Panjabi arrives to help bring in a few viewers, but the show might have spiked because nothing else was returning. Viewers, tell me whether the tattooed excitement of Blindspot is a real mystery or just a dumb gimmick?
