Marvel TV and Amy Poehler Win First Emmy Awards

Just in case you missed it, last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys had a few pleasing developments. Amy Poehler won her first ever Emmy Award – after 18 tries! She took home the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, which she shared with Tina Fey for their recent appearance on Saturday Night Live. It was the first time a duo had been nominated in the category.

Back in 2013 Poehler and Jon Hamm poked fun at their Susan Lucci status by hosting a Losers Party. They raised $20,000 that night for the Worldwide Orphans Fund.

Marvel TV also won its first official Emmy. Sean Callery won in the category Outstanding Main Title Theme Music for his work on the Jessica Jones score. Jessica Jones previously won a Hugo Award and a Peabody Award. If you love film noir and haven’t watched Jessica Jones, there’s no time like the present!

The Creative Arts Emmys were held last weekend for a bunch of categories that won’t make it to network TV. The 2016 Emmy Awards will be held this Sunday at 8:00 pm on ABC.
