Fox Renews Wayward Pines Season 2!

By  |

It took them a long, long, time, but Fox has renewed Wayward Pines for season 2. The limited run summer series originally starred Matt Dillon as a secret service agent who woke up after a car crash and found himself trapped in the small town Wayward Pines, unable to leave. The series was a total 10 episode blast and exactly what we enjoy about summer TV. The finale left the series open for another season, but so far there are no details on who will reappear. (I don’t feel like giving out spoilers this early in the morning!)

Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, Hope Davis, Carla Gugino and Juiliette Lewis all make an impact. Season 2 will reportedly follow a newcomer to the town, who finds it in the midst of a series rebellion. Wayward Pines is based on Blake Crouch‘s book series. Original show runner Chad Hodges won’t return, since he is attached to a new project based on Crouch’s book, Good Behavior, which will star Michelle Dockery. Believe’s creator Mark Friedman will take over the M Knight Shyamalan production.

We chatted about it in a totally spoilery way here.
