This is supercalifragilisticexpiali-AWESOME!

I have to admit that I’ve been in the dark about the new Mary Poppins Returns movie. I knew Lin Manuel-Miranda was working on it, and Emily Blunt had been cast as the title character. Outside of that, I hadn’t looked into it yet. Now set pictures are being released, and we’re getting out first look at their characters. I’m so excited!

Gordon Harrold released the photos on his Twitter account, and they are simply smashing!

Playbill has the description of the movie:

The film is a sequel to the original Disney movie. Set in 1930s Depression-era London, it tells the story of Mary Poppins’ return to the Banks family now that Michael and Jane are grown up. After Michael experiences a devastating personal loss, Poppins, with the help of her lamplighter friend Jack, uses her sense of whimsy to bring joy back to the family she once cared for.

Mary Poppins Returns will be released on Christmas Day of 2018.
