Nintendo Direct dropped two big announcements on November 12th. The release date of Hyrule Warriors Legends will be available on March 25th, 2016 in North America for the 3DS.
They also announced the first female Link. Her name is Linkle, she fights with duel crossbows, and she’s look adorable while slaying those around her.
She shares a similar spin attack to her male counterpart, except it’s a kick opposed to a sword.
As a life long Zelda fan, I’m a bit torn on this news. On one hand, I’m all for a new female character. On the other, I would love to play a full RPG Zelda game with someone like Linkle. But I feel like having her in a hack-and-slash game like Hyrule Warriors Legends is the first step.
My other issue? I don’t like her name. If she’s an incarnation of Link, her name should be Link. That’s just my opinion. I don’t see why there has to be a name difference at all. I guess after years of players calling Link by “Zelda,” they felt the need to not get Linkle confused as well.
GameXplain on youtube gave a nice introduction to Linkle and what to expect from her.
Hope set out into the world to be a Pokemon Coordinator. When she realized that Pokemon were not real, she pursued her other passion: writing.
Hope was raised in fandoms and saw how they can help save the world from her work with The Harry Potter Alliance. Now, she works to bring that love into writing one article at a time.
She's also a diehard Atlanta Braves fan, so don't diss her team.
